The public curfew clamped by JCILPS, Jiribam Branch recently in Jiribam has been misinterpreted as "Mayang Curfew" in leading local dailies in Silchar, he added.
Maintaining that such falsifying news reports can incite communal unrest among various communities in the State and also in other parts of the country, Komlakanta asserted that demands of saving the indigenous people of Manipur should be distinctly made aware to any individual so as to avoid any misquotation or misleading reports in newspapers.
Media persons of Silchar also reportedly interviewed some Bengalis residing in Jiribam regarding the matter.
