AMOFA Academy felicitates DC Bishnupur, footballers

Bishnupur, May 08 2022: All Moirang Football Association (AMOFA) Academy, Moirang on Saturday organised a felicitation programme to honour prominent footballers from Moirang and DC Bishnupur, Lourembam Bikram at INA Hall, Moirang.

Lourembam Bikram was recently conferred the Prime Minister's Award for Excellence in Public Administration by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for successfully implementing the Khelo India Scheme.

Speaking on the occasion as the chief guest, Moirang AC MLA Thongam Shanti announced that as a president of AMOFA Academy, he would work to make it a regular academy.

He also mentioned that he would strive to make Moirang a sub-station for athletes by producing more sportspersons who would represent Manipur and the country.

He further expressed hope that the construction of District Sports Complex in Phubala will be completed soon with the assistance of the Ministry concerned.

Lourembam Bikram in his presidential address expressed his joy on being conferred the Excellence Award and stated that he received the award on behalf of the district.

He also appreciated the athletes, sports organisations, clubs and coaches of Bishnupur district for their contribution in making the scheme a success.

Lourembam Bikram further announced that the District Administration will provide all possible assistance to uplift sports infrastructure and conduct interaction programmes with sports associations & clubs to produce more athletes from the district.

As part of the programme, gifts were presented to prominent footballers including Kumam Udanta, Subhas Singham, Dheeraj Moirangthem, Miorangthem Givson, Keisam Angelo, Santosh Irengbam, Thoiba Moirangthem and Shilky Hemam.

Th Shanti also launched a leaflet titled, "AMOFA Academy at a glance" and declared Hemam Shilky Devi as brand ambassador of AMOFA.
