Thoubal, August 07 2015 : District Administration, Thoubal in association with District Health Society, Thoubal conducted free mobile health camps at flood affected areas of Leishangthem, Shanthel, Pangaltabi and Wangoo under the aegis of the Medical Directorate, our correspondent reports.

District Health Society Chairman and Deputy Commissioner of Thoubal T Ranjit launched the free mobile health camps which was held today.

According to the DC, about 16 such camps have held till date in Thoubal district alone.

More such camps would be organised to prevent epidemic outbreaks at flood hit areas of the district.

A team of DHS mobile medical unit set up a free medical camp at Thoubal Leishangthem today.

CMO, Thoubal Dr Jayantakumar, District Programme Manager H Rishikesh Sharma were also present at the medical camp.

A one-day free medical camp was also held at flood affected areas of Wangjing, Heituppokpi and Khangabok and Sangaiyumpham today organised by Sky Hospital in association with local clubs today.

Bhubon Brick Field, Kakching owner Naorem Nopur Singh and Bhubon Gems owner Naorem Nabachandra donated rice and other essential commodities to 8 different relief camps set up at Kakching, Kakching Lamkhai and Pallel.

Meanwhile, Leirongthel Ningel Gram Panchayat pradhan, members and locals have appealed to the State Government to provide necessary relief materials to the flood affected people of Khoirom, Heitroipokpi, Leirongthel, Malom, Chandrakhong and Kakmayai villages.

A statement issued by pradhan Salam Kumar said more than 300 paris of paddy fields and about 60 fish farms were destroyed in the recent flood.

Youth Volunteers' Union, Thoubal aided by the TATA Trust, Mumbai, on the other hand, would be distributing relief materials to 1000 families who are worstly affected by the recent flood.

The union would begin distribution of relief materials from August 6 to villagers of Moijing, Ningombam, Sabaltongba, Tentha Heinung, Tentha Khunjao, Tekcham, Khangabok, Leishangthem, Thoudam, Irong and Laphupat Tera, a statement informed.
