Jiri Ima Market: Shyamkumar directs encroachers to vacate land

MAHUD and Town Planning Minister Thounaojam Shyamkumar today directed encroachers to vacate from the proposed land for the construction of the toilet complex of Jiribam Ima market Shyamkumar, at the under-construction Jiribam Ima Market complex, said that legal notice will be served to the encroachers to vacate the encroached land within 7 days.
The Jiribam Ima Market will have a total capacity for 250 vendors and the complex will be incomplete without a toilet complex, he said and appealed the people in the district to cooperate with the Government for timely completion of the market and the toilet complex.
Expressing hope that the construction work of Jiribam Ima market will be completed soon, the Minister said that he will consult with the Chief Minister for the inauguration of the market complex.
Stating that the Jiribam Ima market has been constructed after razing the old market place at the cost of Rs 10 crore, Shyamkumar said that the market complex will benefit the women vendors and the people of Jiri at large.
It will become one of the landmark areas of the district, he added.
The Minister was accompanied by Robert Kshetrimayum, DC Jiribam, S Shanti Devi, Chairperson, Jiribam Municipal Council, M Rajen Singh, MMAS, Executive Officer, Jiribam Municipal Council among others.
