Dy CM, DGP inspect construction of Police Station

Imphal, January 07 2014:
Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam along with other officials including DGP, Sahid Ahmed today inspected the ongoing construction of Police Station at Andro, Yairipok, Nongpok Sekmai, Heirok and Pallel today.
Dy CM Gaikhangam, who is also in-charge of Home dept said that the construction of police station at Andro, Yairipok and Pallel would be completed within a month.
He said that deficit infrastructure at Nongpok Sekmai PS including office building, lock-up room and store room would be provided soon.
Most of the police stations were found under-staffed.
Assuring to upgrade the Heirok PS into a full-fledged one, the Dy CM also said that he would consult the CM and the DGP towards this end.
Saying that the completion of the Police stations has been delayed due to controversies arising out of drawing police and revenue jurisdictions, the Dy CM said that the inauguration of the Police Stations would be ensured by the first week of February.
Gaikhangam also said that the results of recruitments of constables and ASI in the Police dept would soon be announced.
The Dy CM was accompanied by Parliamentary Secretary, K Meghachandra; MLA Y Surchandra and Andro AC MLA Th Shyamkumar.
