I Can Foundation to confer humanitarian excellence award to social workers

Social workers, Rakesh Naorem and Ningombam (o) Ranibala Leima will be conferred this year Humanitarian Excellence Award by I Can Foundation, Jaipur.
The two from the State were shortlisted along with 42 other individuals for the award, for extending aid to underprivileged people amid the pandemic.
Rakesh Naorem is a son of Naorem Chaoba Singh and Naorem (O) Borni Devi of Tentha Khongbal, Thoubal.
Apart from helping the underprivileged people, Rakesh Naorem played an important role in promoting Manipuri culture.
He has written 5 books, produced 6 Manipuri feature films and 10 short and documentary films.
The social activist is a recipient of Person of the Year, Humanity Achiever Award, Bir Tikendrajit National Award, Nongpok Ningthou Distinguished Cash Award etc.
On the other hand, Ningombam (o) Ranibala Leima is a daughter of Yengkokpm Apabi Singh and Yengkokpam (O), Ibemhal Devi.
She is a founder of M/S Purnima Enterprises.
Ranibala Leima also reached out to many poor families affected by the pandemic.
