Punish those involved in short supply of PDS rice: Hemanta

Thoubal, September 05 2020: Even though many people have complained that the quota rice distributed under NFSA and PMGKAY by the State Government is not distributed in adequate quantity, the State Government is still not giving any reaction which simply shows their disrespect towards the public, said Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) vice-president Moirangthem Hemanta, in a statement today.

It may be mentioned here that former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prashad was sent to jail in a fodder scam case.

Why can't the same be applied here for stealing quota rice, he questioned.

"Why are the people in the Government not giving any reaction, when people have started talking about it in newspapers, social media and every gathering".

"Now people have even staged sit-in-protest against misappropriating rice meant for people".

"The issue is all over the news.

Don't they feel ashamed," he said.

The State Government has not listened to the voice of the public.

All sections of the public should raise their voices until the Government responds.

Now the time has come for the people to teach them a lesson, he added.
