Individuals and group to be awarded with cash prize for collecting maximum plastic wastes in Jiribam

Jiribam, October 04 2019: Advisor Friendly Environmental Warriors' (FEW), Jiribam M Romeo Singh, in press meet held at the conference hall of Jiri News Network (JNN) today, announced that FEW, Jiribam will honour those individuals, groups, CSOs, Clubs, Organisations etc, who will collect maximum tons of plastic waste and its related items in October, with cash award to make Jiribam district a free plastic zone as part of "Jiri Green Mission".

He further said that the cash award will be divided into two categories - Individual category and Group/CSOs/Clubs/Organisations category.

Cash award of Rs 10,000, Rs 7,000 and Rs 5,000 will be given to the top three individuals in the first category as 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winners while in Group/CSOs/Clubs/Organisations category, the 1st prize will carry a cash award of Rs 12,000, 2nd prize Rs 10,000 and 3rd prize Rs 8,000 .

Vice-Chairman, Manipur Food Industries Corporation Ltd, GoM K Sarat Kumar Singh will sponsor the cash prize, he added and informed all to bring plastic wastes at the dumping area of Jiribam Municipal Council situated at Chingdong Leikai (Patchao) from October 25 to 29, from 8 am to 3 pm.

All the winners will be honoured with the cash award in a prize distribution function to be held on November 3 with the support of District Administration Jiribam and Jiribam Municipal Council, he maintained and sought full support of the public to make the initiative a success.

The press meet was also attended by vice-president Y Ibomcha Singh, Asst Secy Th Rakesh Singh, Finance Secy Sanjit Singh, FEW women wing president S Roshimala Devi and L Jiran Singh, Leishemba Atom among others.
