Senapati, April 04 2016: In a bid to keep the legacy of its founding brothers of Maram Khullen alive, the Willong Village Ngapoingrangboisingnamei clan erected a huge monolith at the village on Apr 2.The monolith was erected in memory of the three brothers- Ngapoing (eldest), Rang (second brother) and Boising (youngest) who historically migrated from its ancestral home at Maram Khullen village, the originating village of the Maram tribe.

The Ngapoingrangboisingnamei clan is spread out to many differ- ent villages of Maram in Senapati district.

More than 500 males of the said clan and Willong villagers and its neighbouring villages participated in the occasion.

According to the villagers, the monolith was erected to ac- knowledge and remember the legends of the village.

The erection of the stone is also to seek the blessings of the ancestral fathers.

ADC Member Rangpung John along Veine Duo, Member, Phaibung DCC and Thotrie, ADC Executive Member from Ngari-DCC and other dignitaries were present at the programme.
