Rape accused appears in Court

Imphal, September 03 2014: Two accused persons of different rape cases were produced before the Sessions Court Bishnupur today.

Both of them were remanded to judicial custody till September 17 .

In the first case, accused Md Tasuddin (62) s/o Md Mabibula of Kwakta Ward Number 8 was produced before the Court under FIR Number 54 (7) 2014 of Moirang Police Station under Section 8 of POSCO.

The accused was in the judicial custody after he was arrested by a team of Moirang Police.

He is facing charges of sexual assault meted out to an eight-year-old girl from his locality.

He allegedly committed the crime at Kwakta Junior High School ground on May 10 last at around 2 pm when the girl was plying with two of her friends.

In the another case, accused Angom Sanathoi Singh (42) of (L) A Ibocha of Thinungei Awang Maning Leikai was produced before the same Court under FIR Number 4(8)2014 Bishnupur Women Police Station under Section 376(2)(i) and Section 4 of POSCO Act.

The accused is in the judicial custody from August 20 after he was arrested by a team of Bishnupur Women Police Station in connection with rape charge of a minor girl.

Sanathoi allegedly raped a four-year-old girl on August 15 at around 2.30 pm in a field located near the house of the girl on the pretext of giving sweets.
