Savitri Bai Phule Jayanti observed in Senapati

Senapati, January 03 2025: Rural Advancement Association Manipur today celebrated Savitri Bai Phule Jayanti in Senapati sponsored by Dr Ambedkar Foundation.

Savitri was a social reformer, who strived to abolish discrimination and unfair treatment based on caste and gender, who worked for women's rights and empowerment, and a pioneer of education in India.

Panii Peter Th, president of Rural Advancement Association, Manipur addressed the public and highlighted briefly Savitri's contribution towards the society transformation, stating she lived a good exemplary life in upholding the truth and justice to have a fair and equal treatment of lives.

She initiated one of the greatest causes that is on Education.

S Khonai, stressed the importance of education as education is the backbone in every society for civilization.

She further stated that people have many things to learn through Savitri's exemplary work.

The event focused on fighting unfair practices in any society, to minimise the unfair practices in the society, to bring changes in the society for the wellbeing of the people, to follow the good path, join hands together and work for a better tomorrow and for the better future.

The speaker as well as the delegates thanked the Rural Advancement Association Manipur for organising such an event and expressed gratitude to Dr Ambedkar Foundation for sponsoring it.

The program was attended by different personalities of the districts.

A special cultural troop from Katomei Centre and Phaibung Khullen showcased enthralling cultural dance and folk songs as part of the programme.
