TYCM demands

The Tribal Youth Council Manipur (TYCM) has urged Chief Minister N Biren Singh to fulfill their 10-point charter of demands by December 29.Some of their demands include filling up of vacant posts in the Tribal Affairs & Hills Department, Manipur State Commission and Tribal Research Institute as well as increase in fund allocation and release of pending benefits, among others.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club today, Robert Gonmei, general secretary, TYCM, informed that a memorandum listing their charter of demands was submitted to the Chief Minister on October 7 and again on November 6 .
The TYCM general secretary alleged that prolonged negligence in recruitment and development activities in the TA & Hills Department, MSCST and TRI has undermined the development of tribal communities of Manipur.
He cautioned that TYCM will launch intense democratic agitations if the Government fails to fulfill their 10-point charter of demands by December 29 .
