Bodies formed to study economy revival

The State Government has today instituted five sub-committees to look after the remedial and recovery measures of the State's economy which has been hit hard due to the prolonged lockdown on account of the COVID-19 outbreak.
The development came after CM Minister N Biren Singh chaired a meeting to discuss the impact of COVID-19 on the State's economy.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary, Heads of various Departments, CAU, MU, officials of CSIR.
Following the meeting, sub-committees for 'Rice production', 'Horticulture', 'Livestocks', 'Palm tree plantation' and 'Handloom and Textiles' were formed.
The sub-committees were assigned to assess the condition and take up appropriate measures to help recuperate the State's economy and submit relevant reports to the Government within one month.
