Monthly pension, essential items distributed

Imphal, December 01 2024: MPCC member Oinam Romen Singh today distributed monthly pensions to 140 differently abled persons and senior citizens during a function held at Singjamei Oinam Thingel today.

Notably, the monthly pensions were exclusively sponsored by Oinam Romen Singh.

The function was organised by New Development Organisation Singjamei in connection with International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

It was attended by senior citizens Sarungbam Chaoba, Sarungbam Nabakumar and Huidrom Nabakishore as presidium members.

Speaking on the occasion, Oinam Romen expressed anguish over the failure of the Central and State Government to end the prolonged conflict and restore peace & normalcy in Manipur.

He also decried the silence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the present unrest in Manipur which has led to irreparable loss of many innocent lives and properties.

Rotary Club

Rotary Club of Polo City Imphal on Sunday provided essential relief materials to Langol Old Age Home, Imphal West under its "Community Service Project".

The relief materials included water purifier, water filters, water jugs, water kettles, tiffins, adult diapers and other essential edible rations.

Altogether, 10 senior citizens are presently staying at the Langol Old Age Home.

During the event, members of the Rotary Club of Polo City Imphal interacted with the senior citizens staying in the home.

Sovid Elangbam, president of the club, discussed the present needs, difficulties, sorrows & griefs of the elders of the home.

He has also assured to provide all possible assistance to the home particularly in the health care sector.

Rotary Club of Polo City Imphal secretary S Presbyojit Sharma, president elect Dr RK Ratankumar Singh and other senior members of the club were also present at the event.
