MALA observes 4th foundation day

Jiribam, November 01 2024: The Manipuri Literary Association (MALA), Jiribam observed its 4th foundation day in a solemn event held at the Farmers Conference Hall located at JMC Complex in Babupara today.

The ceremony was graced by Ingudam Binod Singh, Advisor, MALA; F Ahmed, chairman, MALA; W Amuchow, president, Apunba Khorirol Malemgi Lup Imphal; Faruk Ahmed Choudhury, president, Naharol Writer's Forum, Assam and Kanta Khuraijam, senior advocate as the presidium members.

An award distribution event was also held as a part of today's ceremony.

Notably, journalist awards were handed over to Hijam Bikhramjit, Impact TV (Jiri correspondent) and Leichombam Fajalembi, ISTV (Jiri correspondent) while Amarjit Konthoujam was given an award in recognition of his punctuality and good answer in MALA quiz competition.

Additionally, Ng Bijaya Keisham, Guwahati Assam; Moirangthem Saityabati, Jiribam and Pukhrambam Noni, Jaribon, Hailakandi were awarded as winners of the 1st season, 2nd season and 3rd season of MALA Warimacha Competition.

Meanwhile, Iboton Singh Thingom bagged the Samuyaima Waikhom Literary Award 2024 which comes with a cash prize of Rs 5000, citation and a shawl.

Delivering the presidential speech, F Ahmed said that the foundation day was set to be conducted in June but had to be postponed owing to the law and order situation in the State and the district.
