Ukhrul, October 31 2015 : The Ukhrul District Working Journalists' Association (UDWJA) organized a two-day workshop on cultural rejuvenation cum media training under the sponsorship of the Tribal Research Institute ( TRI) Imphal at Awontang Community hall, Ukhrul, reports our correspondent.

Speaking at the inaugural function, Ukhrul District Commissioner MH Arvind exalted the rich culture of Tangkhul community and said that traditional culture of every community must be preserved.

An interaction session on the topic "Role of media in social harmony and development" was also held wherein responsibilities and credibility of media in shaping society through their analytical views and information were minutely discussed.

The workshop programme was also attended by Dr Achan Mungleng, Sothing Shimray, president, Manipur Hills Journalists Union (MHJU) and Valley Rose Hungyo, editor, the Aja Daily.
