Imphal, February 28 2017: Regional Tasar Research Station Central Silk Board, Ministry of Textiles, Govt of India, Mantripukhri has organised Oak Tasar Krishi Mela at Regional Tasar Research Station, Imphal.

The programme was graced by Maranchan Luikham, Director, Department of Trade, Commerce, Industries & Sericulture, Government of Manipur, Th Surjaboro Singh, chairman, Manipur State Sericulture Co-operative Fed Ltd and L Bidyabati Devi, scientist-D & Head, Regional Tasar Research Station, Imphal as presidium members.

Speaking at the programme, L Bidyabati said, "The mela has been organised in order to acknowledge the increase of both quality and quantity of sericulture raw materials produced by the farmers of Manipur" .

She also informed that there are 300 sericulture working under Regional Tasar Research Station, Imphal.
