Imphal, December 31 2014 : The first ever 'meet together' of the Manipur Students Olympic Association (MSOA) held at the residence of the association's secretary general, Dr Shantikumar at Lairenjam Mekola today deliberated on career opportunity for students in the field of sports and art and culture.

The meeting was attended by pradhan of Kodompokpi/Meitram GP Th Inao; Dy Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly and chairman of MSOA MK Preshow Shimray; vice-chairmen of MSOA N Santosh Mangang, Dr Chourjit, and treasurer of MSOA H Raikumar attended the meeting as the chief guest, president and guests of honour respectively.

Addressing the meet, chairman of the association, Preshaw Shimray said that the association will provide a platform for young talents to display their skills besides honing their skills.

In line with its goals of encouraging students to take up sports as a full time career, the association would also extend facilities to students to pursue sporting careers in 43 different disciplines, Shimray said.

Preshaw Shimray was also honoured with 'the best sports promotor of the year' in recognition of his commendable role in the promotion of sports during the occasion.
