Health Camp, Stroke Management Awareness Programme held

Shija Hospital & Research Institute Pvt Ltd successfully organised a health awareness programme on "Emergency Stroke Management" at the Manipur Police Training College in Pangei, in collaboration with the Manipur Police, Govemment of Manipur today.
The session attracted more than 100 police officers, personnel, and trainees and was conducted by Dr Rahul Oinam, Consultant Neurologist at Shija Hospitals.
According to a release issued by SHRI, this initiative aimed to raise awareness about strokes among police force members and ensure their preparedness to manage stroke emergencies swiftly and effectively.
Dr Rahul provided practical insights into identifying early stroke symptoms and outlined critical response steps, emphasizing the importance of rapid medical intervention.
He noted that strokes, caused by the blockage or rupture of blood vessels in the brain, are a leading cause of death and disability worldwide, affecting one in four individuals in their lifetime.
"Immediate action, including swift transport to a stroke-ready hospital within the first 4.5 hours, is essential for maximizing patient recovery", he added.
To reinforce their understanding, participants received informational leaflets detailing how to recognize stroke symptoms.
The programme underscored the critical importance of stroke awareness for the health and operational readiness of the police force.
Additionally, Shija Hospital organised a similar programme at the Community Health Center (CHC) in Lilong.
Dr Sulochana Darjee, Consultant Emergency Physician at Shija Hospital, educated the staff at the CHC.
BABINA HOSPITAL
In connection with the World Stroke Day, Babina Hospital on Wednesday launched a 2-Day Health Camp dedicated to stroke detection and prevention at its premises in Sajiwa Jail Road, Khabeisoi, Imphal East.
On the first day, 26 patients took advantage of expert consultations provided by the distinguished medical professionals, Dr Tamphasana Wairokpam, Consultant in Neuro Medicine, and Dr, Javed Malik, Consultant in General Medicine, said a release issued by Babina Hospital.
The health camp offered complimentary screenings, including TSH (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone), Lipid Profile, Random Blood Sugar (RBS), and Urine Tests, ensuring participants received essential health assessments.
Additionally, attendees benefited from a special offer of a 20% discount on CT scan services, further enhancing the value of this initiative.
At the event, Dr Tamphasana said, "Our goal with this health camp is to raise awareness about stroke prevention and provide essential screenings that can help detect risk factors early.
