Jiribam, July 30 2018: A prize distribution ceremony was held to appreciate the winner of the painting competition held on July 29, which was based on the theme "sanitation is everybody's business" at PWD Guesthouse, Babupara, Jiribam.

The competition was jointly organised by District Water and Sanitation Committee, Jiribam District and Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), Jiribam Division as a part of its campaign on Swachh Survekshan-2018 .

The prize distribution ceremony was graced by Peter Salam, ADC Jiribam as chief guest while RK Nobinsana, pradhan Dibong gram panchayat as a functional president whereas K Roshan Singh, Asst Engineer Jiribam PHED division attended the function as a guest of honour.

The painting competition was held in two categories.

In Category A (Class I to V), Hijam Leo Singh, Little Angel English School bagged the first position, P Kalpita Devi, Jiri Public English School secured the second position while L Laanglen, RK Sanatombi Devi Vidyalaya finished at third position.

They were honoured with a cash prize of Rs 3,000, 2,000 and 1,000 respectively while consolation prizes were also presented to 10 other participants In Category B (Class VI to X) Hijam Anandini of Highway English School, A Premananda of RK Sanatombi Devi Vidyalaya and Th Erailembi of Jiri Public English School were declared first, second and third position and a cash prize of Rs 4,000, 3,000 and 1500 respectively were handed over to the above three winners while cash prize of Rs 500 each were also distributed to five other participants as a consolation prize.

Besides, the organiser also presented Rs 100 each to all the remaining participants to encourage them.
