'Hostels for children with special needs to be constructed'

Imphal, January 30 2018:
Education Minister Thokchom Radheshyam has announced that two hostels for children with special needs will be constructed with 50-50 bed each for boys and girls at Bishnupur and Moirang.
He also assured to extend all possible support to the labours and working class people from the Department of Labour & Employment.
He was speaking as the chief guest at the opening ceremony of the 15th Chiru Students' Conference, 2018 organised by Chiru Students' Union, North East India on the theme 'Beyond Quality' at Sadu Chiru Village, Kangpokpi district.
He said that Chiru is one of the important communities residing as part of the family in the State.
Citing example of Roti Bank, Mumbai an initiative taken up by the Mumbai Dabbawalas' Subhash Talekar who decided to feed the poor staying on footpaths, Radhehsyam said that it is high time for the State to adopt such practices.
He advised the students to understand the cycle of time -the past, present and future as human has to learn from the past for better present and the future.
He said that the conference provided an opportunity to the students to receive informal education.
Chairman of MPCB & KVIB, L Radhakishore Singh, SDO/BDO, Bungte Chiru, Lalrongbawl Hmar, village chiefs, Chiru Union (NE) president Phaitung Jatak, students attended the opening ceremony.
The conference will witness numerous competitions in games and sports and literary events.
It will conclude on February 3 .
