School building inaugurated

The District Council Administration of Chandel, inaugurated the newly constructed Saivom Model Primary School building at Saivom village, Chandel, today.
The school building was constructed under the Non Lapsable Central Pool of Resources (NLCPR) Scheme 2011-12, our correspondent reports.
Chandel ADC Vice-Chairman Th Joy Lamkang, Chandel ADC Executive Member (Edn & PHED) Ngamkholal Baite and Chandel ADC Member S Tongpao Mate graced the inaugural function as the chief guest, guest of honour and president respectively.
Chief guest Th Joy Lamkang, Vice-Chairman, ADC Chandel, unveiled the inaugural plaque of the building and handed over the school building to the School Management Committee.

Speech by dignitaries and dance performances by the students of Saivom Model Primary School were the main highlight of the inaugural function.
Chandel ADC's Schools Inspector TK Moshilpha; Assistant Engineer (PWD) N Yaiskul; KSO Tengnoupal Block president Daniel Mate and Assistant Inspector (S) Thangkhogin Khongsai also attended the function.
Th Joy Lamkang, Vice-Chairman, ADC Chandel said teacher should treat their students as their own children while teaching.
Teaching without a dedicated heart will not yield any fruit, he added.
ADC Executive Member Ngamkholal Baite said parents must have faith in the School Management Committee (SMC) and should send their wards to Government schools in order to avail free education.
The villagers should also extend cooperation for the smooth functioning of village schools and try to get maximum benefits from it, he added.
The Executive Member also urged all the teachers under the ADC to perform their duties sincerely and also to attend school regularly at their respective place of posting.
