5 day long observation of 221st death anniversary of Rajarshi Bhagyachandra kicks off

The five day long observation of the 221st death anniversary of Rajarshi Bhagyachandra was kicked off by Rjarshi Bhagyachandra Cultural Foundation Manipur at Dwarka, Gujarat today.
Speaking at the function, titular king Leishemba Sanajaoba commended that Manipuri dance Raas and Sankritan gained popularity in the national and international arenas because of Maharaj Bhagyachandra.
Ritual ceremonies were carried out as at Gomati Ghat and Swami Narayana mandir.
Continuing his speech, Leishemba Sanajaoba said that the people of the State should not forget Maharaj Bhagyachandra who had immense passion about State's Kala Sankriti and contributed greatly to uphold the art and culture of Manipur.
On the other hand, convenor of the foundation, T Irabot said that the foundation aims to follow the footsteps of the Maharaj Bhagyachandra and fulfil his aim to promote Manipuri art and culture.
In a separate event, the 221st death anniversary of Rajarshi Bhagyachandra was also organised by Shri Shri Shri Anu Mahaprabhu Sebait Samiti (SSAMSS) & Organising Committee was held at Shri Shri Anu Mahaprabhu Mandir, Nabadwip, Nadia, West Bengal today.
The five day long celebration was attended by vice chairman, Manipur Food Industries Co-operation Limited K Sarat Kumar, Assistant secretary, SSAMSS Shri Shri Anu Mahaprabhu Seva Stengbag Marup, Imphal and RK Ranajit , chairman, SSAMSS as dignitaries among others.
