Traditional Tangkhul vests issued to chiefs

Imphal, March 29 2012: Traditional Tangkhul vest for Tangkhul Chiefs/headmen was released today at Ukhrul Youth Hostel.

The function was graced by DC of Ukhrul Sudhan as the chief guest.

The occasion was also graced by President of Tangkhul Naga Long, Solomon Ningshen as the guest of honour while the President of Tangkhul Naga Wungnao Long, AS Vaome presided the function.

Speaking at the occasion, Sudhan said the role of headman is very significant in the society.

He said, the vest for the headmen (uniform) would surely serve in promotion of Tangkhul culture and identity.

Sudhan expressed hope that the dress would inspire the youth in the promotion of their culture and identity.

The DC has also donated one computer set to the organiser, TNWL.

The vest (uniform) is tailored and designed in such a way that the wearer of the vest would be identified as a headman in any function and programme.
