Imphal, December 28 2016: Newly appointed Chairperson of Wangoi Municipal Council Khaidem Mema was feted during a programme held at Wangoi Bazar community hall today.

After former Chairperson of Wangoi Municipal Council L Iboton was defeated in no confidence motion tabled against him on October 21, Khaidem Mema was appointed as the new Chairperson yesterday.

Speaking at the programme, S Achouba, vice chairman, Khadi and Village Industries Board said that with the election of the new Chairperson various developmental works can be now initiated efficiently.

S Achouba also conveyed gratitude to Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh for speeding the appointment of the new Chairperson so as to accelerate the execution of the developmental programmes in the area.

While addressing the gathering, Wangoi Municipal Council Chairperson Kh Mema also extended gratitude to S Achouba for taking up effort to revive Wangoi Municipal Council and further urged the people to continue extending support to S Achouba who is also the intending candidate in the upcoming Assembly election.
