Ukhrul Churches to fast, pray for just peace next month

Ukhrul, July 28 2014 : The 22 churches of Ukhrul town belong to different Christian denomination have decided to hold a special fasting prayer day on 2nd or 3rd of August next month for ensuring peace and tranquility in Ukhrul town.

The foremost duty of the church is to prevail peace, make the people to understand the word of God and live in peaceful life.

The peaceful atmosphere has been drastically transformed into alarming situation after the assassination of ADC members M Ngalangzar and subsequent raiding of WTR civil liaison office thereby deploying additional State security forces and clamped of prohibitory order at the Ukhrul town.

The Christian Inter Churches Forum, Ukhrul condemned in strongest term the recent killing of M Ngalangzar ADC members at Finch Corner, Ukhrul.

They shared their grief with the bereaved family.

The Forum appealed to every individual, group or organization to respect the human life and settle any problem through dialogue and understanding and added that people runs with anxiety, create self insecure with the situation.

The religious leaders lectured the Christendom to obey and follow the teaching of Christ, submission of any crucial decision before Christ.

The gospel of Christ Forgiveness and tolerance though there may be misunderstanding yet the prodigal son penitence.

The Inter Churches Forum of Ukhrul strongly condemned the gun down of M Ngalangzar , injuring his nephew and the van driver by unidentified miscreant and urged to restrain from violent.

The district headquarter churches forum representing from Seventh day Adventist SDA, Baptist Churches, Roman Catholic, Church of Christ and Presbyterian about 22 churches will hold a fasting prayer programme to their respective churches.

This special fasting prayer day devote to the governance body of the State, district administration, civil society leaders, security persons, law makers etc to tackle and monitor with wisdom.

All Christian should attend the prayer day at their respective church to endow once again with peace and harmony and restoration of normalcy under the theme Voyage for common Cause.
