Imphal, February 28 2016: A wreath laying ceremony was organised by 41 Assam Rifles of 10 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) today to commemorate the 104th birth anniversary of Maj Bob Khathing at his resting abode in Mantripukhri.

The event was organised to honour and remember the achievements of the late Maj Bob Khathing, one of the brightest stars and heroes of Ukhrul and Manipur and to fondly pay tribute to him, informed a statement issued by the PRO of IGAR (S).

Major General VS Sreenivas, VSM, IG AR (South) was the chief guest.

The event also saw John Khathing, son of Late Maj Bob Khathing paying tribute to the departed soul.

The ceremony started with wreath being laid by John Khathing, family and friends followed by Commandant 41 Assam Ri- fles, Brigadier Sandeep Mohla, SM, Commander, 10 Sector Assam Rifles, Brigadier Sunil Kumar, SM, Deputy Inspector General.

Major General V S Sreenivas, VSM, IG Assam Rifles (South) also laid wreath.

41 Assam Rifles gave the ceremonial salute to the Legend of Manipur Late Maj Bob Khathing post the ceremony.

The chief guest interacted with the family members of Late Maj Bob Khathing who are residing at Mantripukhri, Imphal, it said .
