Dr S Ranjan calls students to learn about State history, freedom fighters

Imphal, August 27 2022: Meritorious students and sport persons of Konthoujam and Yurembam Gram Panchayat in Konthoujam Assembly Constituency were felicitated today at Yurembam Awang Leikai and Konthoujam Kangjeibung Community Hall respectively.

Speaking as chief guest at the function held at Yurembam Awang Leikai organized by Yurembam Development Club, YDC, Dr S Ranjan Singh, Minister, Health and IPR said that through proper education, a sense of patriotism and nationalism can be instilled.

The event is organized in order to encourage the students and make improvements in their respective fields, the Minister added.

Dr S Ranjan also maintained that "students of this age need to have an idea of our history.

They should understand the role played by our freedom fighters for the present generation.

Remembering and honouring our patriots and following their footsteps are the duties of the citizens.

Their sacrifices and ideologies should be respected" .

He said that the government is taking up steps for bringing improvements in all sectors.

Public cooperation is required for fulfilling the objectives.

Dr L Sashikumar, president YDC, Th Nilamani Singh, ZP, Yurembam, M Deben Singh, Pradhan, Yurembam GP also shared the dais as president and guests of honour respectively.

Later, at the felicitation function held at Konthoujam Kangjeibung Community Hall, the Minister said that encouraging meritorious students will help in producing more talented students.

Daigang Gangmei, MCS, Director, Relief and Disaster Management, K Kumar Singh, former Youth Coordinator, NYK, L Ratan Khuman, Managing Partner, LYS Groups, N Indrakumar Singh, Principal Free Progressive Academy, Konthoujam shared the dais as president and guests of honour respectively.

The Minister also distributed merit certificates and awards to the meritorious students and sport persons of Yurembem and Konthoujam Gram Panchayat.
