Chotisuh Sazo to attend Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference at Johannesburg

The Speaker of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) Chotisuh Sazo will be attending the 59th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference to be held from September 1 to 6, 2013 at the great city of Johannesburg, South Africa.
Sazo, who became the Speaker of 12th NLA on March 14 this year, will be part of the Indian Parliamentary delegation that will be led by the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Meira Kumar.
The Conference will be attended by delegates from 53 Commonwealth countries.
In the Conference, some of the vital and burning issues will also be discussed.

Some of them are effective solutions to Commonwealth Development Challenges and Parliamentary response to the Commonwealth Charter.
There will also be Workshops on various subject matters such as Land Access and Ownership, Progress and Challenges Experiences by Rural Communities in accessing land and what could be the "Role and Intervention of Parliamentarians"; the Challenges Attaining the Millennium Development Goals by 2015; A Threat to Democratic Governance, etc.
The Nagaland Speaker will be sharing in the areas of Parliamentarians' Role in Transfer of Technology and Research to Boost Agricultural Productivity and the Challenges of Attaining the Millennium Development Goals by 2015 .
After attending the CPA Conference, Sazo will also visit Italy, Germany and France as part of post conference study tour with a view to acquaint himself with the parliamentary practices and procedures in those countries.
