Kangpokpi, January 27 2021:
'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas' being the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the BJP core agenda in Manipur is to bring together the valley and hills by bringing equal development to both, said BJP National spokesperson and in-charge of North East, Dr Sambit Patra.
He was addressing a congregation during his maiden visit at Kangpokpi District Headquarters yesterday.
"We want to unite the valley and the hills, we cannot exclude any group.
The valley and the hills should be together in Manipur, there should be equal development," said the BJP National spokesperson before adding that "we came here [in the hills] under the Chief Minister N Biren Singh's Go to Hills banner for equal development" .
Dr Sambit Patra said, "We consider development of the hills extremely important.
I am happy to see that under the BJP Government approximately Rs 100 crore has been allotted by Chief Minister N Biren Singh for development in the hills".
While alleging that the previous Congress Government had neglected the hill regions, he questioned what had been done by the Congress Government in the hills in the last several years.
There were no proper roads, no hospitals, no schools, no development and no money for the development of the hills, he asserted.
"With its mischievous agenda, divide and rule policy, the Congress had divided the valley and hills in Manipur for so many years by neglecting the hills, and this is what they want.
On the other hand, we want to unite the valley and the hills and bring equal development.
Our core agenda is development of both the valley and hills," he said.
Stressing on the importance of hard work and dedication of the party workers, Dr Sambit Patra said that the only thing that made possible the BJP formed the Government on its own is through hard work and dedication and exhorted all the party workers to work hard and give full commitment towards the party and the people of India.
