'PMKSY- HKKP a big boon'

Many projects are being taken up at Sanjenlok village in Imphal East district under the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana-Har Khet Ko Pani (PMKSY-HKKP) which was launched in the State by Chief Minister N Biren in August with the sole objective of developing the rural areas of the State.
Under PMKSY, Laishram Biren has started taking up projects such as mushroom, potato and peas farming, fisheries projects, duck farming and also for apple and grapes as well.
Speaking to our reporter, he said that the farm was started with an aim to fulfill the requirements of essential fruits and vegetables in the Sanjenlok area.
With the continuous contributions of the hardworking local farmers, Sanjenlok village will be a well developed village soon, he asserted.
He stated that under PMKSY-HKKP and as per the directives of the Chief Minister, implementation of ground water schemes in proper places by the minor irrigation department is an added benefit for the farmers.
The Chief Minister also visited the farm in September and instructed to take up any projects which are possible in the area, he added.
He further stated that a trust named 'Fores' is constructing a half kilometre road for easy commute and sought the support of the local bodies and authorities concerned towards the activities of the local farmers and appealed to everyone to work hard and strive collectively for a unified goal.
It may be mentioned that PMKSY-HKKP aimed for taking up 375 minor irrigation schemes and 550 ground water irrigation schemes.
