State reserves 200 acres

For the sports university proposed to be set up at Yai-thibi Loukon, Thoubal district, the State Government has initiated due procedures to hand over 200 acres to the Centre.
Chief Minister O Ibobi convened a high level meeting today and discussed about the proposed sports university.
Notably, the State Government has already assured the Government of India that land required for the proposed university would be allocated by the last week of December.
During the meeting held today with relevant officials and MLA of Wangjing-Tentha A/C Paonam Brojen, the Chief Minister reviewed progress of the land acquisition process.
The Government has initiated necessary measures to fulfil the assurance given by State Government officials led by the Chief Secretary to the Union Sports Ministry regarding the proposed sports university, informed an official source.
The meeting also discussed about land acquisition for/at Hotel Imphal and Lei Ingkhol.
