HOPE Kpi organizes seminar

A non-Governmental organization, HOPE (Helping Oppressed People's Environment), United Nations Agency, Kangpokpi held a community development seminar today at Community Hall, Kangpokpi DHQs.
L Paul Haokip, president, Mission New India, Manipur and Tanpu Tonsing, president, Mission New India, Mizoram attended seminar as main speakers.
Lenmang Kipgen, HOPE director, Kangpokpi, its members and locals attended the seminar.
Importance and necessity of setting up Community Development Council for achieving sustainable community development was stressed.
According to L Paul Haokip, president, Mission New India, Manipur, HOPE (Helping Oppressed People's Environment) was started in 1993 in order to rehabilitate and bring development to the poor and people were rendered homeless due to the activities of various insurgency groups.
He continued that it [HOPE] is a non-profit organization based in southwestern part of Manipur without any particular denomination of Church organizations having divided into various departments such as Handloom, Translation and Publication, Training, Education, Agriculture, etc with an aim to eradicate poverty in all aspects.
HOPE had been accredited with the United Nations General Consultative Status with ECOSOC on October 15, 2015 in order to obtain an Achieving Sustainable Development Goals 2030, he said.
