Accused teacher arrested; mob storms Ccpur PS

Imphal, November 26 2013: Police resorted to firing tear gas shells to control a mob which stromed the Churachandpur PS demanding handing over of a rape accused today following the news about arrest of a school teacher accused of sexually exploiting a teenager.

Lalrosung s/o Hrietkim of Turingpaisen accused of raping a 13-year old student was arrested today by the police.

On learning the news that the police have arrested the accused, angry mob from Tuiringpaisen, where the accused hails, stormed Ccpur PS demanding to handover the accused to them.

The tension at the PS subsided when Police dispersed the mob by firing rounds of tear gas shells.
