Assam Rifles organizes mega tree plantation drive

Imphal, August 26 2020: Troops of Assam Rifles, under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South), organised Mega Tree Plantation Drives at various Company Operating Bases, over a period of three days.

As part of afforestation drive and with an aim to contribute in preserving and promoting the pollution free environment the units organised Plantation drives at various locations in Imphal valley.

Mantripukhri Batallion organised tree plantation at Mantripukhri Garrison, Chingmeirong and Sawombung Company Operating Bases.

Keithelmanbi Battalion organised similar drive at Andro, Lilong and Singjamei Company Operating Bases.

Similarly, Thoubal Battalion carried out tree plantation in the garrison and all Company Operating Bases.

Over 884 troops enthusiastically participated in the Mega Plantation drive and a total of 8894 saplings of various varieties including fruit bearing trees were planted during the event.
