Imphal, August 26 2015: A combined team of Thoubal district police commandos along with women police and 2 AR arrested one woman cadre of PLA while conducting frisking and checking in and around Wangjing area yesterday.

According to Police Dept PRO's statement, the arrested cadre has been identified as Moirangthem (O) Elangbam Ningol Anita Devi (31) w/o Moirangthem Rocky alias Pamuba of Heirok Part-II.

A case has been registered at Thoubal PS and investigation is going on.

In another operation, troops of the 45 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) along with representative from Heingang Police Station established joint vehicle check post in general area of Pangei Bazar and apprehended another PLA cadre the same day.

According to a statement issued by the PRO of IGAR (S), the apprehendee was identified as SS L/Cpl, Sanasam Birchandra alias Ibungo (46) S/o (L) S Nita of Zou Veng, Churachandpur.

The apprehendee has been handed over to the Heingang Police Station.

In yet another operation, one KYKL cadre identified as No 198, SS Pvt, Maibam Lemba Singh alias Nongdran Khomba (24) S/o M Babumacha Singh of Langol Laimanai, Imphal West was apprehended by troops of the same unit from Khabeisoi area.

The apprehendee has been handed over to the Heingang Police Station.

Meanwhile, troops of 40 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) along with Imphal East police commandos launched a joint operation in the general area Urup Arapati Komla Ingkhol and recovered one lathod gun and two lathod shells on Aug 25.The recovered arms and ammunition was handed over to the Irilbung Police Station, it said.
