Police detain PRJA convener Erendro

Imphal, May 26 2018: Erendro Leichonbam, convener of Peoples' Resurgence and Justice Alliance (PRJA) has been picked up by a team of Imphal PS for allegedly circulating video clips with inflammatory speeches in social media.

According to a reliable information, Erendro Leichonbam was picked up from his residence at around noon by a team of Imphal PS .

He has been remanded to police custody till May 28 .

Erendro was allegedly pulled up from his residence for circulating a video clip which had already gone viral in social media like Facebook and Whatsapp from yesterday morning onward.

On the other hand, Reformist Students' Front (RSF) has demanded immediate release of the arrested individuals, including PRJA convenor Erendro Leichonbam.

A press release issued by the general secretary of RSF today demanded the State Government to take up necessary steps to protect the indigenous people of the State as well and further warned that if the Government fails to do so, the association along with the people of the State will launch intense agitation from May 28 .
