UNLF clarifies

The militant outfit United National Liberation Front (UNLF) has clarified that Takhelmayum Kenedy alias Naoriya of Khurai Chingambam Keikai does not have any kind of connection with the outfit anymore.
A press release issued today by M Sak Hen (Director, Department of Publicity, UNLF) stated that Takhelmayum Kenedy had retired from the party in 1999 .
It pointed out that UNLF has no connection whatsoever with the news published in the daily papers and news channel which claimed that T Kenedy approached the family members of Ch Sanjit, the victim of Khwairamband Keithel incident, with financial promises and later threatened to kill the family members and burn down their house if they do not comply with him.
The press release stated that, the July 23, 2009 fake encounter incident of Khwairamband Keithel is a State issue and neither the organisation nor its armed wing, the Manipur People's Army (MPA) would meddle in any of the actions taken up by the people regarding the incident.
The organisation warned against using its name either by its retired members or any individual without the organisation's knowledge and permission, it added.
