Wangkhem Assembly Constituency MLA K Meghachandra has asserted that he as an MLA has nothing to do with the distribution of PDS items in his Constituency in reference to the allegations raised against him by the Wangkhem Kendra Kanba Lup.
Speaking to reporters at his Babupara official quarters today, the MLA said that as an MLA he had nothing to do with the distribution of PDS items and added that a case has been filed against the persons who raised the allegations.
Arrest warrant against the persons who raised the allegations have been issued said the MLA and recalled that on October 10 this year, the Lup members had convened a media meet and accused him of siphoning off Rs 4 crores worth of PDS items, which was totally false and baseless.
The case will not be withdrawn unless they issue a clarification, he asserted.
Stating that the case against 29 persons will be pursued to its logical conclusion, the MLA however said that he has nothing against the media as such.
Meghachandra said that until and unless the 29 persons tender a clarification, the case will be pursued.
