Assembly constituencies continue lifting of PDS items

Imphal, August 25 2020: In continuation of the State Government's initiative to ensure availability of foodgrain to its residents during the ongoing lockdown, Assembly Constituencies (ACs) of the State carry on with lifting of PDS items from certain godowns located at various parts of the State.

Mao AC of Senapati District completed lifting of its rice, allocated under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) and National Food Security Act (NFSA) for the month of September, with 993.95 quintal under PMGKAY and 1,051.75 quintal under NFSA being lifted yesterday.

Under PMGKAY, the AC also lifted 1,655.50 quintal and 1,398.20 quintal of rice on 21st and 22nd August respectively.

1,802.50 quintal and 1,465.20 quintal of NFSA rice were also lifted for Mao AC on 21st and 22nd of this month respectively.

In Churachandpur District, three ACs namely Churachandpur, Singhat and Thanlon (Mualnuam), as reported today, had completely lifted their allocated quotas of 2,229.70 quintal, 2,050.55 quintal and 375.75 quintal of PMGKAY rice for the month of August.

Saikot AC had so far lifted 2,281.70 quintal of PMGKAY rice from the allocation of 3,635.40 quintal for the current month.

Under NFSA, Singhat AC and Thanlon (Mualnuam) AC had lifted 2,290.40 quintal and 395.60 quintal of rice thereby completing their allocated quotas for the month of August.

Meanwhile, Churachandpur AC had also completely lifted its allocated quantity of 2,229.70 quintal of PMGKAY rice meant for the month of September.

There was also report on lifting of 175.25 quintal of Whole Chana under PMGKAY, allocated for the month of July, for Saikot AC of the District today.

Regarding Pherzawl District, so far all the ACs had completed lifting of their allocated quotas of rice both under NFSA and PMGKAY for the month of August.

The lifted rice included 685.90 quintal (NFSA) and 630 quintal (PMGKAY) for Tipaimukh (Vangai/Sibapurikhal) AC, 616.80 quintal (NFSA) and 561 quintal (PMGKAY) for Tipaimukh (Parbung) AC, 517.40 quintal (NFSA) and 446.80 quintal (PMGKAY) for Thanlon AC .

In Thoubal AC, lifting of chana dal, allocated for the month of July and August, consisting of 211.40 quintal for Lilong AC, 208.40 quintal for Thoubal AC, 198.60 quintal for Wangkhem AC, 195.74 quintal for Heirok AC, 229.60 quintal for Khangabok AC and 217.18 quintal for Wangjing Tentha AC was carried on, till date.

The lifted dal was distributed to the beneficiaries of respective ACs today.

Beneficiaries of Heirok AC was ,today, distributed with 1,902.70 quintal of PMGKAY rice allocated for the month of September.

The distributed rice was lifted on 21st of this month.
