Imphal, September 24 2017: A day long seminar on Umang Lai Haraoba was organised by Imphal East Umang Lai Committee along with Union of Social Upliftment (USU), Khurai at Lainingthouhanba Laikon, Khurai Chingangbam Leikai today .

Khuraijam Ratankumar, founder vice-president of USU, president Thoudam Ruhinikumar and Loushambam Romola Devi, Corporator, IMC Ward No 23 attended the seminar as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively .

Moderated by cultural activist Ningthouja Lancha, the seminar was also attended by Mutum Maniton, convenor, Board of Study, Guest Faculty Department of Umang Lai Haraoba, Manipur University of Culture; Sahitya Akademi Awardee Makhonmani Mongsaba; Pukhrambam Dhanajit, Guru Lai Haraoba Department, Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy; Waikhom Romesh, Assistant Professor, GP Women's College and Naoroibam Indramani, retired Member Lailup, Manipur State Archives as resource persons .

Speaking on the occasion, Ratankumar said that every community should protect and preserve its own culture, tradition and customs.
