State reports 11 deaths, 549 new positive cases

Imphal, June 24 2021:
The state on Thursday reported 11 fatalities and 549 new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 4278 samples tested, thus recording a positivity rate of 12.83 per cent.
Thursday also reported recoveries of 655 patients after which the number of active caseload slightly dipped to 9174 .
Of the active cases, 2485 patients are in home isolation and 5165 in CHICs.
There are 725 patients admitted to different hospitals of which 308 including 34 post-Covid patients are on oxygen support and 42 patients on ventilator support.
On the other hand, 799 patients are admitted to different CCCs and 68 patients are on oxygen support.
The state has recorded 37,983 positive cases and 730 death cases since the beginning of the year.
The current month reported 15,420 new cases and 278 fatalities of which 3828 new cases and 64 fatalities were added in the last seven days.
The State Level Covid-19 Deaths Audit Committee reported 11 Covid-19 deaths (4 males & 7 females) in the last 24 hours.

The district-wise fatalities are Imphal West (2), Imphal East (2), Bishnupur (1), Kakching (2), Chandel (1), Tamenglong (1), Kangpokpi (1) and Churachandpur (1) .
Five patients died at JNIMS, two each at RIMS & Shija Hospitals, and one each at Raj Medicity & DH Churachandpur.
The cumulative number of deaths has reached 1085 .
Five victims were in the age group of below 60 years and three did not have any co-morbid conditions.
One patient died within 24 hours of arriving at hospital and another within 48 hours.
According to official reports, all the 549 new cases (270 males & 279 females) are from among the general population and their samples were tested at RIMS (19), JNIMS (29), District Hospitals (338) and other testing centres (163).The positive cases are from Imphal East (103), Imphal West (188), Thoubal (49), Bishnupur (53), Kakching (43), Ukhrul (30), Churachandpur (33), Chandel (6), Senapati (4), Tamenglong (14), Tengnoupal (6), Kangpokpi (17), Pherzawl (1) and Noney (2) .
All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
The 655 patients who were discharged in the last 24 hours included 344 from home isolation, 8 from RIMS, 9 from JNIMS, 99 from CCCs and 195 from CHICs.
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 66,171 (general population - 62,363 and CAPF personnel - 3,808) .
Number of recovered cases is 55,912 (general population - 52,148 and CAPF personnel - 3,764) and number of active cases is 9,174 (general population - 9,135 and CAPF personnel - 39) .
The recovery rate is 84.49 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, 2128 D-type Oxygen cylinders and 412 B-type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health facilities.
District hospitals and government institutions have 461D, 99B type filled cylinders.
Number of filled cylinders delivered in different districts and a sub-division in the last 24 hours is Bishnupur (116D,5B), Chandel (22D,9B), Churachandpur (84D,0B), Senapati (48D,0B), Thoubal (56D,32B), Ukhrul (34D,15B), Tamenglong (4D,0B), Jiribam (45D,12B), Moreh (18D,7B), Kamjong (3D,1B), Kangpokpi (4D,0B), Kakching (19D,16B) Noney (2D,0B), Pherzawl (6D,2B) and CCC (334D, 98B).As of Wednesday, 5,10,644 individuals have been given Covid-19 vaccine shots and out of them 82,655 individuals have got their second dose.
Government report stated that 6522 doses including 101 second doses were administered on Wednesday.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (23,251), Imphal East (14,857), Thoubal (5378), Churachandpur (5170), Kangpokpi (1681), Tamenglong (2091), Bishnupur (4043), Senapati (1369), Ukhrul (1422), Kakching (3226), Chandel (1124), Noney (555), Tengnoupal (737), Jiribam (726), Kamjong (434) and Pherzawl (107) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (395), Imphal East (283), Thoubal (100), Churachandpur (86), Kangpokpi (28), Tamenglong (9), Bishnupur (77), Senapati (5), Ukhrul (15), Kakching (58), Chandel (15), Noney (3), Tengnoupal (5), Jiribam (3), Kamjong (3) and Pherzawl (0) .
However, the figure does not match with data released by CMOs of some districts.
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 21,325 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 21,628 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 2,81,608 tests per million population against the national average of 2,85,546 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.64 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 4278 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 12.83 per cent while the cumulative positivity rate rose to 7.57 per cent.
