HAC Chairman calls for dialogue to end conflict

Dinganglung Gangmei, Nungba AC MLA and Chairman of the Hill Areas Committee (HAC), has called for political dialogue to end the prolonged conflict and restore peace & normalcy in Manipur.
Speaking at the Foundation Day celebration of Wainem village on Thursday, Dinganglung Gangmei expressed concern over the conflict which has been going on in the State for nearly two years and the creation of artificial boundaries at various places preventing free movement of people.
He asserted that Manipur does not belong to any particular community, different communities including Naga, Meitei and Meitei Pangal have been living in the State for ages.
Highlighting the need for dialogue to address the artificial boundaries and division among the communities, he appealed to all the people to let go of the anger, resentment and come together for a better and prosperous Manipur.
"Only by embracing one another and acknowledging a shared history, we can build a unified Manipur", added the HAC Chairman.
The foundation day celebration was graced by dignitaries, including Dr GD Ransinchung RN, Professor, IIT Roorkee; Dr Edwin Gonmei, former CMO, Noney District; Lt Col Kabiphun Panmei (Indian Army), Khullakpa Khumanchao Gonmei and Khunpu Gongapou Gonmei.
Laying of foundation stone and cultural dance performances by Wainem Women Society were the other highlights of the event.
