Imphal, March 24 2017: A single bench of the High Court of Manipur today admitted the application filed by the counsel of N Ajay against the conviction order passed by Session Court, Imphal West on January 20 .

The application was filed by the counsels of N Ajay, before the High Court of Manipur against the order passed by the Session Court which convicted N Ajay to five years imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 10 lakh for the death of Irom Roger under 304 and 27 Arms Act.

On the day of conviction, the Ajay's counsels filed an application before the High Court of Manipur.

The application was heard by Chief Justice Rakesh Ranjan Prasad of Single Bench High Court of Manipur and admitted the application to be heard by the High Court for hearing.

After the admission of the case, the Court recalled the case dairy, charge sheet and the prosecution witness of the case who had disposed during the trial regarding the case.

It may be mentioned that N Ajay was convicted on January 7, 2017 regarding the death of Irom Roger in 2011 and sentenced to imprisonment on January 20, 2017 .
