CPI calls on Bhalla with demand to secure highways

The Manipur State Council, Communist Party of India (MSC/CPI) has submitted a memorandum to Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla outlining six demands including deployment of Highway Protection Forces along the National Highways of Manipur to ensure safety and security.
According to a press release issued by L Thoiren, secretary, MSC/CPI the remaining demands include: i) safeguarding the territorial integrity of Manipur, ii) facilitating an immediate political solution to the ongoing crisis in Manipur, iii) restoring peace and normalcy in the State at the earliest, iv) ensuring resettlement of displaced persons to their original homes and v) recommending the Union Government to provide an economic package to assist in rebuilding the crisis-torn State of Manipur.
MSC/CPI expressed hope that under the leadership of the Manipur Governor, a path toward resolving the ongoing crisis in Manipur will be charted.
It further urged the Governor to take the necessary steps to address these pressing issues and bring about a solution to the challenges faced by the people of Manipur.
