Imphal, December 23 2012:
Manipur Naga Revolutionary Front (MNRF) has condemned the incident in which Lt.Col.Livingstone of NSCN (IM) molested film actress Momoco and fired shots at two artistes at Chandel district headquarters on December 18 .
In a statement, General Secretary of MNRF Francis Kashung observed that at this juncture of comities and advanced society, such primitive act on actress Momoko by Lt.Col.Livingstone of NSCN (IM) is shameful.
This inhuman action indicates that NSCN (IM) has never taught the good points of being a revolutionary leader to its cadres but they have been misguided to become dacoits.
Kashung noted that people both in the hills and the valley have lived together as brethren for generations and would be still together for generations to come.
Unfortunately, NSCN (IM) seems not to be aware about this.
Discrimination among the communities is not what the people of Manipur wants.
If NSCN (IM)'s intention is otherwise then what is the point for Peace talk? We are no longer in the Head Hunting age.
Every individual in the society is well aware of the importance of peaceful co-existence and that is what everyone is working for today.
He went on to observe that MNRF will never support this kind of discriminatory act among the people and it would whole heartedly supports the decisions taken by the Manipuri Film Actors and Artistes.
But it is also the humble appeal to the Front to see whether the ongoing bandh could be relaxed for the Christmas in the larger interest of the Christians in the Hills and Valleys and resume it after the festive season is over.
We assure our best assistance in this matter and in future to avoid any communal discrimination in Manipur, Kashung added.
