Assam, Manipur CMs hunt for accord in fine-print

Dimapur, September 23 2015 : The Chief Ministers of Assam and Manipur are making all out efforts to obtain the fine-print of the 'Framework Agreement' that was signed between the Government of India and the NSCN-IM on August 3 in New Delhi.

Sources informed this evening that Tarun Gogoi and O Ibobi Singh are fervently exploring all possible avenues to get the contents of the 'Framework Agreement' .

The sources also disclosed that the two Chief Ministers are 'using' certain bureaucrats to obtain the documents.

A highly placed source said that the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) and the NSCN-IM are not 'willing' to disclose the fine print of the 'Framework Agreement' even to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) .

Meanwhile, three rounds of talks have been held so far between New Delhi and the NSCN-IM after Thuingaleng Muivah returned to Delhi from Dimapur.
