Minor Irrigation dept felicitates Parliamentary Secretary

Imphal, October 22 2012: The Minor Irrigation Department Employees' Association has felicitated newly inducted Parliamentary Secretary, K Meghachandra (MI and IPR) and MLA E Chand today at MI Department premises, Lamphelpat.

The felicitation function was graced by Commissioner (MI) JC Ramthanga and CE of MI Department, M Shyambabu as the chief guest and president respectively.

Speaking at the occasion, JC Ramthanga urged all employees of the department to put all out efforts for the implementation of projects and schemes, which the department failed to implement during the past 10 years.

Parliamentary Secretary, K Meghachandra assured that he would ensure regular salary for work-charge employees of the department in consultation with the Minister concerned and the CM.

He also assured to set up a meeting hall for the department and provide adequate security to the employees.

He stated that the department has great role to play in order to address the current food crisis in the State.

The Parliamentary Secretary has also stressed on the need to strengthen the department in order to ensure larger agriculture products by providing total irrigation system.
