Ukhrul District Congress Committee DCC decries

Imphal, September 22 2013: The Ukhrul District Congress Committee has strongly condemned the abduction and killing of Tangkhul Naga Long presidential candidate Jonathan Kashung.

Jonathan Kashung served as president of Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong and convenor of Coordination Committee under Tangkhul Long.

"We fail to comprehend as to why this young, energetic, promising life is snuffed out while he was in the forefront in the TNL presidential race", said a press release issued by Ukhrul DCC general secretary RS Ngaranchui.

"The abduction and subsequent killing of Jonathan Kashung depict a very bad picture of our Tangkhul community to our neighbour and the outside world.

Our society have had enough violence and killing", it decried.

Many promising and coveted souls have been lost.

This is certainly a great loss for the Tangkhul community.

Every responsible citizens/societies including the church leaders ought to come out to this madness of killing.

The DCC also conveyed solidarity to the bereaved family.
