Imphal, March 22 2015: World Water Day was observed along with a State Level Quiz competition based 'National Rural drinking water and sanitation week 2015' at MFDC auditorium on Sunday.

The director of CCDU L Swamikanta during the observance function urged all to maintain civic sense among the people and stop polluting river waters.

He appealed all to save forests so as to stabilize climatic change and save river water.

Imphal east won the first prize of Rs 10,000; Bishnupur district took second prize of Rs 7,000 and Tamenglong getting third prize of Rs 5,000 in the state level quiz competition held.

L Swamikanta also distributed Rs 2,000 each to 10 participants.

L Swamikanta said that the 'Swachh Bharat' mission in Manipur has set an objective to provide sanitary toilets to 20 lakhs household by 2020, which will be bigger step towards sanitation.
